Ready for your life to change?

Being the best-kept secret in the interior design industry is not a good idea.

The goal is for clients to know your work.
You want them to come to you, rather than you chasing them.
You can be seen as exclusive and known for your work at the same time.

Marketing your interior design business is not about doing just one thing, unfortunately. Instead, there are a few powerful triggers that you can use to reach your favorite client. Let's find out what they are...

Marketing your interior design business is not about doing just one thing, unfortunately. Instead, there are a few powerful triggers that you can use to reach your favorite client. Let's find out what they are...

Attracting the right clients

Oh clients, where for art thou?

1.

PHOTOGRAPHY: When your projects are dripping with allure and looking all polished, you exude nothing but professionalism. And guess what? When a client contacts you, they're already thinking you're the real deal.

2.

BRANDING: Want to charge well for your design work? Then make sure that you sound and look the part. This is where branding speaks louder than words. (also what is totally wild, is that your fees are part of your marketing. We're diving into that too.)

3.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Have you ever wondered why you want a large following on Instagram? Because if your ideal client isn't even on instagram, it doesn't matter. Don't forget LinkedIn, Pinterest and being shared by publishers and blogs to reach your clients.

4.

GET PUBLISHED: Does getting your project published in Vogue mean that the phone will instantly ring? No. But it builds serious credibility and clients pay well to know they've found a designer that is the 'real deal.'

Let's Do

This

Letting the RIGHT clients find you is key. Nothing defines our business as much as our clients do. A pretty instagram feed is not it.
We need to dig a little deeper.

THIS IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK

ASHA ARDILL

Being a creative person who works alone, both brilliant and crazed thoughts bounce around in my mind, so the Design Society is my safe space to share ideas, get feedback, add to my skill set and industry knowledge, and basically be less alone in running my own studio.

kim, hibernate interiors

As one of the first groups to join TDS - I found the advice, support and reference material invaluable. Recently I had one of my residential projects featured in Home Beautiful (long time dream to be published).
I know that the confidence and helpful hints gathered from TDS assisted me greatly in pitching to a publication.

Britt White Studio

Thanks for all your help on my questions regarding PR. We sent out our media kit... they have advised they will publish it... It started as a dream 6 years ago, and became a major goal of mine during the design, so tick!

Real results

hey there!

I'm Lauren, your biggest supporter!

I’m an interior designer that loves to talk about interior design. I write about design, speak about it and basically live and breathe design.

I've done it.
Now I'm showing you how, too

I'm Australia's only fully qualified (Diploma and Bachelor Degree) interior designer and mentor. I still practice as an interior designer so this isn't just theory. I've been published in Vogue Living, Belle, Elle Decoration, The Design Files, you name it. You can do it too.

This is the real deal...

Sisalla isn’t a hobby, it’s our family business. My husband Phil, works as the CEO, CFO and procurement manager (we wear many hats). And yes, we are one of those weird couples that actually LOVES working together. We can’t believe how lucky we are to work on gorgeous projects for great clients in between school drop-offs and holding the baby.

I founded interior design studio, Sisällä in 2012 when I had my first baby (thought I’d have some free time - ha!) We’re based in Melbourne, Australia.

I have more than 20 years of experience across the residential, retail, and commercial sectors, and holds a Bachelor of Design, Interior Design (Honours) from Swinburne, and a Diploma of Arts, Interior Design & Decoration from RMIT.

Sisällä’s projects have been recognised by several awards programs, including the Australian Interior Design Awards, and as a five-time finalist of House & Garden's Top 50 Rooms.

Always one to share my passions in the hope that we can elevate the interior design industry and go GREAT work for our clients.
